North Vancouver RCMP are seeking the public's assistance to identify the owner of a red and black Specialized CrossTrail bike that has been locked to a bike rack at the base of Grouse Mountain for several days. It was a full house last night for the Club Fat Ass Adventure Slideshow and Year End Social at Kintec Footlabs in North Vancouver.  Members, members-to-be, spouses and friends, kids and dogs came out to share stories and photos of their outdoor adventures over the past year.

Lessons learned at the JJ100

Having recently spent a whole day running in the desert, competing in a 100 mile Ultramarathon.  I have had ample opportunities to focus in on myself...

iPod?
No, even though I had it in the pocket of my Camelbak. I needed to stay alert and listen to my body, not a 5 hour "Grateful Dead" podcast.
Gatorade?
No, I had water and S'caps.
Sports drink can really mess up you stomach over a long period of time.Besides I had the chance of guzzleing sports drink at each aide station.
Vitamin I?

Fat Fighting Veggies and A Recipe

I received a lot of positive response from last week's post regarding rules for good nutrition so I'll follow up this week with more useful nutrition information.

The first piece of info. comes from my collegaue Mike Geary, author of a new ebook called Fat-Burning Kitchen.  Mikes sheds light on a specific class of vegetables that contain very specific phytonutrients that actually help to fight against abdominal fat.

Lausanne half marathon feedback

Well, I did it!

I really didn't know how it would go with my lack of training and energy, but I did it!

A really nice race, with a wonderful landscape with one side our beautiful lake and the other all the vynards with their beautiful fall colours.

As soon as I have pictures, I will post them.

Very happy with that race...even if I cannot walk today, but motivated to do other 20km.

Thanks to my wonderful husband who could have ran it faster than yesterday and stayed with me to motivate me.

The Baggers Banquet - My New, Official, End of the Summer

This past Friday was the first day of the rest of my year.

I was at a business function for most of the day.   People I'd not seen for a while would come up to me and ask, "What's new?"  All I could think to say was, "It was an awesome summer, but sadly, it ended yesterday."

Given that Friday fell in the fourth week of October, more than one person was left scratching their head.
