Training run #2 report

It's been said:

Never a dull moment when you go out on one of Gottfried’s training run.

Team Continuum's New Event

On April 17, 2011, the first ever Brooklyn Bun will race through Brooklyns Prospect Park. The course will take participants on a counterclockwise circuit of the Parks internal roads. Leading off the event is a 20k bike race featuring a time-trial style start. Once athletes complete the bike segment they will transition to a 5k run along the same course and finish on Center Drive. A post-race Finish Festival complete with Awards Ceremony will take place on the grass in the Nethermead.

McDougall on Fat Ass events

Christopher McDougall is always a good read (Born To Run), as well as a listen (e.g. the talk he gave at Google).

I recently came across an article he wrote in the New York Times, in which he describes Fat Ass events in a very positive light, again based on his own experience and sharing his personal events.

What:

Don't forget to put the Chuckanut Calf Cramper on your run calendar for Saturday, May 28th!

This year's course will feature more runnable terrain than last year's ridiculously steep course! We'll hope for great weather and awesome views of Bellingham Bay, but take whatever comes our way! I'll have updated course details listed by the end of April, so start getting your carpools together!
