Club Fat Ass is a grassroots sports club with a worldwide vision. Our members host trail running, triathlon, cycling and other "active lifestyle" events for fellow members. Club events are fun, physically challenging, environmentally friendly and emphasize camaraderie as much as competition. Each event is a reflection of the unique personality of the Event Host. Thought I'd share something inspirational. This is what a client of mine is doing. His name is Van Barbre from Corona, CA and he started marathoning in 1999 at the age of 55. His aim for 2008 is to run a marathon a month. http://vanbarbre.blogspot.com/ Last Sunday he finished the San Francisco Marathon in 4:34:04 at 63 yrs young.

STORMY Package Pickup Help Requested

Hi Everyone,

I had a couple of volunteers lined up to help with package pickup on Wednesday at the Running Room, but now they are unable to be there.

I am hoping to find one or two other people to help me out on this night.

Package pickup is at the North Vancouver Running Room from 3PM to 8PM.

2008 Fluffy Bunny - Year 4

The fourth running on the Fluffy Bunny is now in the books and once again a good time was had by all. Mild and cloudy weather made for excellent running conditions, but unfortunately the stunning views from the Diez Vista trail were obscured by the clouds. Thanks to all who came out and I hope to see you all next year!

Mt Saint Helens A Success!!

Just wanted to post a quick recap of our weekend and let everyone know it was an absolute 'blast'! Cheesy I know!

Geoff Palmer picked the date and threw it out there. Myself, Tom Craik and Duncan Coo all jumped at the chance to tackle this trail.

Fluffy Bunny 6 days away

The dreaded Fluffy Bunny Trail run will be held at 8:30 on Saturday, August 2.

Choose any distance between 11km and 35km.Enjoy some spectacular views of the lower mainland on the Diez Vista and Dilly Dally Trails.

Don't forget about the Pre-run breakfast at the While Spot at 6:30am (3025 Lougheed Hwy)

Doing STORMY? Come on out for a 11-15km taper run.

Success all around at the Badwater 135 mile ultra marathon

In case no was following this years race. I'll bring you up to speed. Jen Segger of Squamish BC finished 9th overall and was the youngest female to ever finish the race. you can read all about it hear on her blog http://challenge-by-choice.blogspot.com/ Now I didn't get to see any of her race but I did get to spend a few hours out on the course. Exactly 45:34 of them crewing and pacing for my Arrowhead friend Sarah lowell who received her badwater buckle for finishing under 48hrs.
