Flash - Foolish Gerbil 100 K Trail Run Results

Only four Fools were at the 6 AM start.  They were so demotivated at having no one to run with other than themselves that they decided to call it a day after three trips around the 18 K circuit.  Unfortuately, we missed Tim who came out later.  Perhaps we would have continued if we had connected with him.  He's not the kind of guy who can be talked into bailing out of a run to go for a few beer.

From Robson Street to Rice Lake with an Olympic Visitor

I spotted her and her husband on Robson wearing Asics, gazing at a map of Olympic events.

I asked if either would be interested in a trail run, and she said yes.

The next morning, I picked her up at their B&B and we drove to Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. I pointed out the nearby Capilano Filtration Plant with pride while quipping, “that’s where our lovely water was purified by UV rays -- isn’t that fascinating?”

There were only two participants in this event.  It's hard to imagine any other event that would keep people from running circles in the rain on such a nice course.

My Chase After the Olympic Torch - Why You Need Periodic Testing of Your Fitness

Olympic fever has hit Vancouver and I've definitely caught it. As someone who only a few weeks ago was rather apathetic about the Games I'm on the band wagon now.

I briefly saw the Olympic Torch relay on my drive home this morning. As I had a run planned for this afternoon I thought I'd check the relay route online and see if maybe I could catch more of the festivities.

The Olympic Torch

Yesterday was a big day:  I got to see the Olympic torch relay as it wove its way through my neighborhood, I got to hold the torch and hang-out with the torch-bearer... and I got a workout in on the spin bike at the gym!

Running Stroller advice

I need some advice on running strollers because I'm going to become a dad sometime in late June.  Yep, that's right... as scary a thought as that might be, I'm passing on my genes!

So far my research says the Chariot is the way to go.

I'd appreciate any experience, suggestions, thoughts.

thanks!

2010 Olympics - Share Your Run with a Visitor Challenge

I used to have to travel a lot for work.  Most of the time I'd end up alone in a big city in a big hotel.
