Escape to Egmont - event report

Updated (attempted!) with GPX file. Thanks Greg!

With a brief break that allowed us some nice weather, we ran the first Escape to Egmont yesterday. With nine starters, we had fair representation of the communities of the sunshine coast. Powell River, Sechelt and Earls Cove runners made the trip to the Earls Cove ferry terminal for the 8:30am start.

Optimizing Cadence and Stride Length

I've talked a lot about mobility work the last couple of newsletters but this week I'd like to change gears and talk

Anyone coming out to Egmont Flash run this sunday?

Looking forward to Escape to Egmont this weekend! Hope to see some of you there. We currently have three confirmed runners. Anyone else up for a roadtrip? Current forecast is sunny and 18deg C.

Meetup will be at the Earls Cove ferry terminal. For those running, I've heard that there has been a cougar sighting in the area over the last couple of weeks.

Any questions, send me a message! I'll only have email access through mid-afternoon tomorrow so please let me know before then if you're coming.

STORMY: want to be on a relay team!? We could put together a few & have a super-awesome CFA presence!!!

Hi CFAers,

Anyone interested in being part of a STORMY team? In case you're unfamiliar with STORMY: it's the Squamish Test Of Running Metal, YEAH! which somewhat follows the course of the longstanding Squamish Test of Metal mountain-bike race. STORMY is a 50-mile course with options to run 100 miles solo, 50 miles solo, or 50 miles as a relay with 7 segments, with 2 to 7 participants. I'd love to put together some teams of CFA folks - depending who's interested, we can have teams that want to go fast, or be goofy, or whatever!

This is a project that I’ve been thinking about for a while, and that I decided to put together yesterday as I slopped through the mud of the Juan de Fuca Trail.
