Berryman Trail 50-mile Race by St. Louis Ultrarunner’s Group (5/15/10)

Berryman Trail 50m is a race that has intimidated me a bit since I learned about it. For one, it’s FIFTY miles – that’s intimidating enough! Secondly, it’s shares a portion of the Ozark Trail 100 course, so I’m pretty familiar with the terrain. It’s all technical single track and usually several creek crossings with major mud.

Lynn Peak covered in bags of poo? Imelda & Derek bag it up.

A glorious sunny weekend in Vancouver.  Seymour looked to still have snow, so we rolled out to Lynn Peak instead.  A nice steady grind, finishing with some awesome views of Vancouver.

The Vancouver 100 is approaching fast. The snow is shallow and the challenge is big.  If you think you have what it takes to tackle the hardest 100km trail run anywhere then you better get your application in now. All it takes is a dedicated crew, a healthy but determined attitude, and a lifetime of training. Oh, and a promise to have fun and watch out for bears. And remember, custom distances are always welcome. Please use the application form and let me know when and where you will be running. Full details here.

Recipe: Energy Bars

I think I shall use my blog to collect and share my recipes. I'll likely have better luck finding them in future than trying to sort through my recipe box. These are some protein bars that I've been enjoying. They are no-bake and chewy, but you'll want to wrap them in layers so you don't end up with one big blob.

Original recipe came from recipezaar ("Low-Fat Fitness Energy Bars" Recipe #3710) but i have modified the recipe to my preferences (and I refuse to buy protein powder).

2010 North Shore Enduro - TAKE TWO!

My birthday is May 10th. I'm turning 32 tomorrow. Doesn't bother me too much, honestly. I never believed 30's to be very old, but I especially don't since I'm well in to my 30's now! ;-)
