Location:
Egmont, BC (start at Earl's Cove Ferry Terminal)
What:
- A part-road/mainly-trail out and back run from the Earl's Cove Ferry Terminal, past Klein Lake to Ruby Lake
- Also, an excuse to check out the northern-end-of-the-lower-Sunshine-Coast (have I confused you yet?)
- Although trail extension is currently taking place, anticipated distances are approx. 15k and 25k (but custom distances easily accommodated)
- Run will start from Earl's Cove Ferry Terminal, along the highway (1+ km) to Egmont Road and either onto new Klein Lake section of the Suncoaster Trail or along Egmont Road (approx. 2km) to North Lake, North Lake gravel road up to Klein Lake and then onto the trail.
- Will confirm route/trail access at end of May based on trail completion at that time. (Trail overview map attached)
When:
- Sunday, June 6th 2010 - 8:30am
- Start time planned to accommodate passengers on the 7:25am ferry from Saltery Bay to Earl's Cove. (This should enable everyone sailing north to get back in time for the 12:20pm sailing from Earl's Cove - next ferry isn't until 4:25 pm!) Run will start after ferry traffic has dispersed.
- Meet out front of the restaurant (don't worry - they'll likely be closed. They're ALWAYS closed.)
- Sunday, June 6th is the day following Egmont Day! Why not make a weekend of it and check out the events, Skookumchuk Narrows or the Egmont Heritage Centre?
