Club Fat Ass is a grassroots sports club with a worldwide vision. Our members host trail running, triathlon, cycling and other "active lifestyle" events for fellow members. Club events are fun, physically challenging, environmentally friendly and emphasize camaraderie as much as competition. Each event is a reflection of the unique personality of the Event Host. All Club events are free to Club members. Membership is open to anyone who enjoys playing outdoors. Join us!

We Have A Winner

You, the judges, have spoken...we now have winners in the 2005 Traveling Colours Contest!

1st - Gary Robbins
of Squamish, BC took top spot with the photo of his exuberant finish at the 50km Knee Knacker North Shore Trail Run last July. Gary will receive a refund on his 2006 membership dues and eternal bragging rights.

Bonus Run - The Dirty Duo

If it isn't one injury, it's another. First, plantar fasciitis (where the meat on the bottom of your foot comes off the bone) then patella-femoral syndrome (a knee that clicks and pops and hurts whether you run on it or not.) Both are nasties that take a long time to heal...and as soon as I figured I'd licked the former, I get the latter.

Sweeping Diez Vista

The sweeper's function is to "sweep the trail" by collecting flagging, garbage and sometimes the participants during a race. We're there to make sure that no one gets lost and no gets left behind, to adminster first aid and encouragement if requested, (because there's nothing worse than having the sweeper pass you because you're not moving fast enough)

New Event, Run to the Clouds... it is happening!

Hi folks,

Well, for any of you that have not heard yet the Coquitlam Club Fat Ass crew are putting on a new event here in the Tri Cities area in about 2 short months. April 22nd is the date to keep clear on your calendar. You will not want to miss this one...

The 2006 Club T-Shirts Are In

You, the judges, have spoken...we now have winners in the 2005 Traveling Colours Contest!

1st - Gary Robbins of Squamish, BC took top spot with the photo of his exuberant finish at the 50km Knee Knacker North Shore Trail Run last July. Gary will receive a refund on his 2006 membership dues and eternal bragging rights.

2nd - Robbins also took second place with his exposed rear end at Cape Spear. He officially becomes the first athlete to take a gold and a silver in the same event while being censored!

New Ultra, June 3 - Kelowna, BC

In case you're bored with the same old...

These guys could use some runners to kick off the inaugural year. It doesn't sound particularly easy, either :)

Seymour Snowshoe Night Thanks

Special thanks to all who participated in the Yeti's complimentary snowshoe night yesterday.

The temps were perfect and the snowshoe running on the trails held little evidence of the fog enveloping the city.

Capilano Canyon Night Run - 18 February

Join us for the fourth annual Capilano Canyon Night Run and potluck party on Saturday 18 February at 6:30 pm. Register here!
This is a 90 minute run in the dark. Afterwards, runners, crew, friends and a few neighbours get together for a Mardi Gras celebration that starts in the hot tub and finishes with a potluck party that usually lasts a lot
longer than the run!

Try Out Showshoeing With Club Fat Ass and The Yeti
