The Gambier Island Masochistic Ubermensch Challenge

On Saturday, July 31, 2010, five adventurous souls extended their Bagger Challenge successes by conquering, in a single day mind you, the most notorious trifecta the Challenge has to offer. It had not been done before and it may never be done again.

Okay, so you're saying to yourself, "Artaban is notorious?", "Killam isn't kind?". Ah yes, but remember, the lid may never be capped on Liddell. Throw that puppy into any set of three peaks and you have the makings of a brass piggy tarnishing before your eyes.

4-Bagger for Katzman, Repta and Jackson

Please chalk-up four (4) peaks (MAR, UNN, HOL, STR) for Ran Katzman, Wade Repta and Ean Jackson as they celebrated the last day of July 2010 by completing the Cypress Sweep

Note:  Given that Ran and Wader summited Black Mountain during the KneeKnacker this year, should also get credit for it.

The Cypress Sweep

In the interest of maximizing the bagging pleasure in the most efficient manner, Ran, Wade and I would like to contribute this six-hour four-Bagger for your consideration.

Here's the big picture:

Peaks:  MAR, UNN (See Howe Sound Crest/Brittania Range) and HOL, STR (Cypress Group.)  May also want to include BLA for a 5-Bagger.

Stormy 50 ride

Wondering if anyone from the Van area has room for two folks to tag along and share gas $ to get up to the Stormy 50 miler.   Ideally leaving Sunday morning but if going up Saturday night that could work as well.

Unlike Action Jackson I keep all my clothes on for the duration of the car ride (unless otherwise requested) so it'll be a safe, non life-scarring ride ;)

Happy trails!

Ride up to Squamish for Stormy 50?

 Hi all,

I'm looking for a kind soul to give me a lift from the Vancouver airport on Saturday (7 Aug) up to Squamish for the Stormy 50. My flight comes in at about 6pm, which means I probably won't be able to catch the bus service up.

Other public transit options would be great to hear about too.

thanks,

Dwayne

FLASH - Can I Run Sunshine in Sept. Without Getting Off-Course

1 Aug 2010 10:30
Location:
Langdale Ferry Terminal - Sunshine Coast, BC

Prerunning the Sunshine in September course (yet again!) to make sure directions are correct and that I can manage the entire distance. Anyone want to join us?

If you've been watching the event calendar, you likely know that the Sunshine In September event is scheduled for the first weekend in September. You may have also noticed that we held a Flash recon run of the course to fine-tune directions back in June. But, since I have yet to stay on course or finish the entire distance, I feel the need to try this one more time before the official event.

FS: Garmin 405cx and Nathan Speed 4

 Hi gang,

Cleaning out my closet of gear that I don't really use to make space for other gear that I have. I am selling:

Garmin 405cx. (comes with HRM, charger, bike mount) $300.00. Works just fine except that I am no longer training based on HRM. So might as well let someone else use this. I've had it for about a year.

Nathan Speed 4. $10.00. In nice and clean shape. Wife always insisted on cleaning it really well after my run. I don't wanna throw this away as someone else might enjoy it still.

Message here or call 604 209 2886. Henry

The Cueball Conundrum

Bothered by Bald Guys.  Pestered by Pink-Headed People.  'Wasn't sure exactly how to call this?

Anyway, 2 bald guys have been ganging-up on me and I'm really not sure what to do about it?  Paul Cubbon and Jason Eads, if you're looking for names.

My first thought was to ignore them.  This has actually bought me some time, but has not resolved the underlying issue.  You see, they want me to run 100-miles with them.
