Hoping to get a few more participants for this weekends Fluffy Bunny run! It is not on Sunday anymore. New date is Saturday June 18th.
For those of you who are thinking of the original Fluffy Bunny routes, they don't exist anymore :-) We have two much more tame around the lake runs (with the lovely Lakeview trail on the west as an alternative to the basic buntzen lake trail) and a harder 27km up and over Diez Vista + if you want a bit more of a challenge.
So this report is SLIGHTLY past due...reminds me of High School.
Much like Club Fat Ass and my friends, St. Louis Ultrarunner's Group, Florida has the Florida Ultrarunner's Group. FLURs as we like to refer to them. Fun loving bunch, with a few great Ultrarunning events around Florida.
Many of us have enjoyed the glorious trail running in the Grand Canyon. Further sublime running adventures await nearby, at the cost of a cheap flight to Vegas. They are closer to Vegas, and also more runnable than the Grand Canyon.
My first bag of the year actually took two goes. The first time we followed the 103 hike book (ok attempted) and found ourselves at the tower below the top with not quite enough time to make it to the peak. Sad start given the fact this one is rated one of the easiest... But nevertheless we chalked the initial trip up to an exploration hike and a chance to put on our hiking boots (ok old trail runners).
From our experience, I would ignore Matt hill trail and follow mount Gardner trail north and then continue left at the handloggers fork.
I'm pleased to announce that Kintec is bringing the world famous Karl Meltzer in from Salt Lake City to do a run and talk on Thursday June 2nd to the North Vancouver Store!
The agenda for the night is meet at the North Vancouver Kintec (975 Marine Drive) at 5pm if you would like to join Karl for a relaxed run on the trails from the store (Mosquito Creek, Mahon Park etc). The run will be 6-8 miles and be at a very casual conversational pace.
I have several pairs of brand-new shoes from before I switched to wearing fivefingers all the time. I bought shoes online several pairs at a time (after buying my first pair at a local running store to support them) & now I have a whole bunch that I don't need, so I'd love to sell them to you for a great price!
