An Evening with Karl Meltzer in North Vancouver

 Hey CFAers!

I'm pleased to announce that Kintec is bringing the world famous Karl Meltzer in from Salt Lake City to do a run and talk on Thursday June 2nd to the North Vancouver Store!

The agenda for the night is meet at the North Vancouver Kintec (975 Marine Drive) at 5pm if you would like to join Karl for a relaxed run on the trails from the store (Mosquito Creek, Mahon Park etc).  The run will be 6-8 miles and be at a very casual conversational pace.

Then at 7pm at the store I will be "interviewing" Karl about his running career touching on topics like his recent Pony Express 2064 mile record setting run, his 14:27 100 miler down at Rocky Raccoon this February, his upcoming adventures, his switch to HOKA shoes, and pieces of advice he has for veteran ultra runners and new ultra/trail runners alike.  The talk will run for 60-75 minutes and then we invite those wanting to continue discussion with Karl to join us at the Taylors Crossing Brew Pub.

For those that don't know Karl's achievements he is the 2006 Ultra Runner of the Year, has WON 29 (yes 29!) 100 milers in his career including Hardrock 5 times and Wasatch 6 times.  He has the 4th fastest time on the 2200 Mile Appalchain Trail and also last fall set the record on the Pony Express Trail from Sacramento to St. Louis in a time of 40 days (running 105 miles on the final day as well!).

Please RSVP for this event to rynemelcher@gmail.com  We will have capacity for 50 people for both the run and Q&A.  Also please note that if you can't make the run you are still welcome to join in for the 7pm Speaker portion!

I look forward to seeing a bunch of familiar faces there!

Happy trails!
