Orcas Island50K trip.

I am wondering if any of my Vancouver friends are planning to make the trip down for the race?

I am entered, and on a standby for the Harriers bus which is, at the moment full!

Friday is a free day for me so I could easilly get over to your city  for the trip down across the border to Anacortes for the ferry to the Island.

Unfortunately in the winter that is the only way for us Islanders to get there...

Any cost incured will be shared.

Here's hoping....

Orcas Island Ultra, and E/B

Just a quick note to you Vancouverites,

Who of yous is doing the Orcas Island 50K?

I Desperately need to know.

I have only two wheeled transportation, (or two legged.)

I know that there are a whole bunch of Prarie Inn Harriers going , but I am more reluctant to ask for support from them as they have a "on again, off again." approach to runners from the "Dark Side".

Just trying to expand my options....

On the other front.

Who else, other than me, wants to run the E/B 50K this coming May?

Heads up on the EB Ultras

Dear CFA,

The online registration is now open, we will be offering four running distances.

100K,50 mile,50K and the 42.2K "First Timers" Marathon.

Plus the 40K Ultra Walk.

Frosty 50

What a day we had!

Most of my extended family were there, including my son. (his first road trip with me.)

Gotfried had a great turn out for what turned out to be a blustery, rainy and sunny day at Lightning Lake and most of the surounding highlands.

I could not have imagined the beauty of the views that we were lucky enogh to witness on this epic trail run.

An event only in it's second year , but already destined to the "Classic" hall of fame for trail Ultras.

Club Fat Ass Events - Juan De Fuca Marine Trail Run Starter Photo

Once again a brave group of adventurers strapped up their hydration packs, took one, possibly, final look at their vehicles and punched the start of their chrono's and headed into the deep dark woods of the west coast rainforest.

The start was delayed by about 30 minutes as Jeff, our play leader, made arrangements as to who was doing what with which cars at which end!

Run/camping

This week end while all you guys were "Storming", I was running up to Duncan from Victoria.

The main reason I went up there was to see my pal Al Howie.

Instead of staying in a Motel,I decided to take a Chariot BB-Jogger.

Once again I made a movie and I post you the link.

PLUS a very cool link to an article that a blogger did last year on the "legend"!

JDFT 2009 Flash assault.

So we have a couple of weeks to figure out the logistic of this.

To make it easier than me trying to explain what is going to happen please go to Jeff's blog for all the details.

I, as always offer overnight yard space.

Scorched Sole Ultras 2009

I hung out at the back of the pack of 17 starters
Of this inaugural running of the 80k(50Mi) here in Kelowna.
This year was the first time that the newly rebuilt trestles were incorporated into the course, after the disastrous fire that burnt for weeks in the valleys and mountains behind Kelowna BC.

I ran the entire race with Gail and Janet.
We talked Ultra the whole way and by the second 30k loop of the Myra bypass we had managed to reel in about 6 stragglers.
