The Diez Vista 50K in on this Saturday, I'm running it for the first time, and the race's website is mum on the course route.
Let's leave aside the question of why the organizers do not provide this information.
But maybe some of you experienced folks out there would care to share the recent course description?
This doesn't need to be accurate regarding mileage, elevation, or trail names; I know the trails around Buntzen and Sasamat pretty well, so a general guiding would be good enough.
The closest thing to a route description I found on the web is this motion based capture from 3 years ago; Is it similar to last year's course?

The course is back to 2006
Hey Ran,
The motion based capture route link that you got from Mike Olund is correct.
The last two years Aid Station 3 was at the Equestrian Parking Lot because the Floating bridge was inaccessible. Obviously this year the bridge has been rebuilt, so from Pumphouse service road, cross the gravel bridge, veer left towards Buntzen lake main parking lot, take a left onto Energy trail, follow Energy trail and take the right fork at the T section to makeyour way down to the Gazebo where your drop bags will be.
Then run across the park to go onto Buntzen lake trail by dog park till you hit the north end of the beach, turn right onto Power house, then Academy to Equestrian, then Eagle Ridge, Westwood Plateau and back.
I'm not sure if the start will go back to 2006,though. Last two years, you ran up the road, looped around the parking lot and onto the beach, taking the east trail of Sasamat lake. In 2006 we ran the west side of the trails, came out of Sunnyside road, up the hill, into the park and then upthe trail.
Just look for pink ribbons. Hope this helps.

The things I find on my hard drive...what a data packrat!
I have a copy of the rather sketchy 1996 route map and have uploaded to Club Fat Asses Flickr photo set:
