Yee haw! Completed the Walk in the Park 54K run yesterday... my 99th ultramarathon run. Feeling like I should go for a short run today to ponder my strategy from here.

I signed-up for the relay, but jazzed by a couple of training runs with pals who have recently run 100-milers, sucked it up and ran the 50-miler at STORMY. Typical bad patches, but the calf didn't go "boing". Thanks to Sibylle, Patricia, Claudia, Rick, Rod and all of the other folks who shared words of encouragement out on the race course.
Two more ultras to make 100. Which ones do I go for? Will my body let me?
I've read your previous post from 2006 that mentioned you were having PFS. How is that working for you? I've currently have it and was wondering if you ever got rid of them.

Yes, of the nasty injuries I have had over the years, plantar fasciitis (PF) is up there with the bad boys. Had to give it time and I guess I gave it enough time, as it's no longer a problem for me.
Also have had problems with knees, in particular, patella femoral syndrome (PFS). I gutted out the pain. Still not the way there were when I was 21 and likely never will be.
You appear to be confusing knee and foot problems! Links to whatever ails you above.
Yea, I was referring to your knee's Patellofemoral syndrome. I have been fighting it for the last four months and its been setting me back on my marathon training. Thing is, I'm only 26 and it seems as though I'll have it for the rest of my life as you have mentioned. How do you manage to do your Ultras with such a condition? It is just frustrating. I went from being able to run marathons, to skimping them. I'll have to find a way to gut it out then.

Hey Dan,
I don't mean that in a bad way. It took meetings with about 8 health care professionals and one MRI to confirm that I would not do irrepairable damage to my knees if I ran on them. So I did. And it hurt a lot. For a long time.
But by running, I found my happy place so it wasn't so bad. And the knees got better! (They still hurt a bit, but not anywhere near as bad as they did.)
Best to chat with your MD to see if pain = gain in your case.
