I am about to submit the order for the 2010 sunshine yellow, no-stink, long sleeve collectors shirts.   If you'd like to get a shirt and haven't registered yet, please do so now at http://www.clubfatass.com/join If you have registered without a shirt and changed your mind, please let me know. 

The shirts will again be made from Chitosante, an environmentally friendly fabric with natural antimicrobial (no stink) properties.  They have been well received, have great wicking properties and perform great in all kinds of weather. 

And the winner is...Claudia!  She achieved 80% of her resolutions for 2009.  For doing the best job of hitting her goals, she wins a pair of running shoes from Kintec Footlabs.

I am in the process of updating the Canadian Ultras Calendar that Club Fat Ass has been "hosting" on our website.

If you are an RD of a Canadian Ultra Run, please take a moment to let me know the date and specifics for your 2010 event.  It would be most helpful, if you use this form to update your event.

It's never too early to think about New Year's Resolutions...

As the annual odometer gets closer to rolling-over, I've been thinking about what I can still do to achieve the fitness goals I set out for myself at the start of this year. This got me thinking about what I'll do to keep my sorry ass moving in 2010.

Given that I plan to once again host a little resolution run on New Years day, I figured I'd also once again offer my guests, and anyone else who is interested, a place where they can log their 2010 fitness resolutions.

I am happy to announce that this year's winner of the early bird registration draw (as determined by a random draw) is Ron Adams of North Vancouver.  Ron is a long time member of Club Fat Ass. He hosts the Adams Aidstation at the Capilano Canyon Night Run and is the organizer of the H2H 100k Ultra each November.

Ron wins a full refund on his 2010 membership. Congratulations, Ron!  Maybe it helps to sign up last minute...Ron's registration came in at 23:10h yesterday - just before the midnight deadline.
 

Last call to register for the draw for the 2010 membership refund. All members registered or renewed before midnight November 30 will be entered into a draw for a fee refund. What are you waiting for? Register now! We appreciate early registration as it helps us to get the shirt order in very early in January.

The other important date to remember is 1 January 2010. Only members on record on that day will receive their 2010 collectors-no stink-long sleeve tech shirt.

Membership registration will continue after 1 January, but you will receive the classic black CFA tech shirt. Nothing wrong with the black shirts... you just won't get the super duper 2010 edition.

It was a full house last night for the Club Fat Ass Adventure Slideshow and Year End Social at Kintec Footlabs in North Vancouver.  Members, members-to-be, spouses and friends, kids and dogs came out to share stories and photos of their outdoor adventures over the past year.

"Rain, No Train" Jackson kicked off the evening by recognizing the people and businesses that support the Club.

100K,50 mile,50K and the 42.2K "First Timers" Marathon.

Plus the 40K Ultra Walk.

I just got a call from Wendy Montgomery.  Mick Maguire (some of you might know him) hasn't returned from an early morning run.  Police is asking for capable runners to help in the search.  ]

Anybody able to help and cover trails in a specific area is asked to check in with authorities at Mick's house at 1641 Dempsey Road in North Vancouver.  Before setting out, please pack trail essentials, especially space blanket and flash light.
