Whistler 50 Training Run and Volunteers

There is a free training run on the course this Saturday.   This will be of interest to those running the relay as well as those running the ultra.   It is also possible to run just one relay stage on this training run because Exchange 2 is very close to the car park where we will meet.

Volunteers - we need aid station volunteers for race day (Sat Nov 5/11)  If you are planning on running Knee Knacker, then this is an excellent way to get in your volunteer hours for that event.
If you can help out, please e-mail me (Ron Adams) at  W50Ultra@BCAthletics.org

Free Training Run - Saturday October 22nd, 2011

Time - 10:00 a.m. promptly (the 10 o'clock start allows for travel time ... about 1.5 hours from North Vancouver)

Meet - Parking Lot 4 in the northwest corner of the parking lot (steps from the junction of Lorimer and Blackcomb Way) This is the free parking lot.
A map is here http://www.whistler.com/resources/pdf/Village_Map.pdf Parking Lot 4 is the most northerly of the large day lots.
Directions - Coming from Vancouver, turn right at Lorimer (which is the first traffic light after Village Gate) Proceed eastbound two blocks and go through the traffic light at Lorimer and Blackcomb Way and then turn right into the parking lot.

Length of full run - about 23 K (but you can run more if you want to) The primary purpose of the run is for course familiarization. We will run from the parking lot to the race start line in Skiers Plaza, then follow the course for one full loop ending by the Whistler Golf Club, finally returning to the parking lot.

Course map - can be found here http://www.bcathletics.org/whistler50/pdf/map2011.pdf

Please let me know if you are planning to come to the training run, so I will know who to be expecting
