As a follow-up to Gary's cougar warning from earlier in the month, there have been attacks on a dog and a small girl in the last few days by separate cougars in/near Squamish. Conservation areas have killed the cougars involved in the incidents.
Conservation officer, Chris Doyle, warns Squamish residents to be alert and careful with children and pets in the area, and to be vigilant in their reporting: "We really need to know when the encounters take place that people report them to us right away." Cougar sightings can be reported to 1-877-952-7277.
