We're getting very close to the date for the Vancouver 100. Our list of participants is very small so far. I don't understand why. Who wouldn't want to spend up to 24 hours or more on the Baden Powell Trail? You'll be surrounded by spectacular scenery, rugged terrain, wildlife, treacherous snow conditions, ever changing weather, potential darkness, and endless challenges. Included with that comes a complete lack of mosquitoes and a generous amount of time to spend contemplating life.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to run 50km and then climb back up Black Mountain? Have you considered the personal satisfaction of completing an epic event right in your own backyard? Isn't it about time you joined the elite list of ultra runners that have finished this event with high esteem and personal victory? I think it's about time you stepped up to the makings of a once in a lifetime experience.
Of course we welcome pacers of all kinds and multiple hanger-ons to comfort our incredible athletes. You can walk, run or somehow propel yourself over a section of the trail, long or short. You can stand on the sidelines and furiously applaud their efforts. You can extend encouragement and support and ponder the reasons each runner has for being out there.
Sign up for 1 km or 100 km.

Picnic at Cleveland Dam?
For most runners, Cleveland Dam is the beginning, the end or the 1/2 way point in our run. For the Vancouver 100 runners, it's the 1/4 or 3/4 point and a good place to meet or drop off a runner if you are pacing them.
It's also an absolutely fantastic place to have a picnic.
The best spot is on the east side of the canyon between the washrooms/fountain and the dam. Can't miss the runners as they come by. There are several picnic tables. Lots of room to toss the frisbee, play badminton or bocce with the kids. Magnificent views of the Lions on a sunny day. Lots of short hikes if you have time to kill before your runner comes through.
Hope to see you there!
I'm in ... for something other than running
Still messed up, so can't even pace, Craig, but would like to help with something. Do let me know what you need a hand with.
Jackson
PS I've been bitten by mosquitos even when there's snow on the ground!
