HURLEY UPDATE...PLEASE HELP! Hurley's owner was following up on a lead from yesterday by hiking up the Dream Weaver trail to near the Kwai Bridge. Barking heard in that area yesterday & today he heard it also but because of the way the forest & landscape is it is very difficult to pinpoint. He spent a long time trying to figure out where it was coming from & heard it several times but it never got closer & he could never figure out from which direction it came. If it is Hurley (and there's a good chance it is because it is not a well-travelled trail right now)Hurley might be hurt or stuck somewhere he cannot climb out from so he can't come to him when he calls. This means Hurley would also not be able to get food or water so it is imperative this is followed up on tomorrow with lots of people fanning out in that area trying to pin-point the barking. If you can help I believe his owner will be up there again tomorrow morning. I will post more info as I get it. Thanks all!

Lost for two weeks -- now found!
CTV national news Lloyd Robertson had a piece tonight that Hurley had been sighted by a hiker, was rescued via helicopter, and reunited with his human. When reunited he joyfully got a belly-rub! He looked full of energy and was healthily wagging his tail.

Hurley still missing
I spent many hours looking for Hurley today, including in the lynn loop/lynn peak trail junction after a distressed dog was heard and reported to police - but no luck. I think the Dream Weaver trail area has been searched high and low and he's just not there. Poor fella. There have been two reported sightings of a "binner" with a Bernese Mountain dog in the past week - so keep your eyes pealed when you put out your recyclables this week.
Yikes, that is steep terrain
Yikes, that is steep terrain in there. Hope Hurley is found soon.
Hurley
Guy and I went out searching tonight, but we found nothing. Steep for a first hike of the year, the calfs were stretching! We did meet Hurley's "mom" and learned he was lost by a kennel where he was being kept while they were on vacation. Apparently he is the 3rd dog "lost" by dog walkers in that area in the past year. So sad.
Thanks for the update,
Thanks for the update, Killaine. Gary saw my tweet about your earlier update and almost set out, but he had another committment already.
I am not sure which trail Dream Weaver is? Does it go up from the trail to the Kwai Bridge?
I am heading out
I am heading out on Dreamweaver from Braemar Park. Will be there shortly after 9 am. Could you please txt or call me at 604-721-1654 when Hurley is found. Let's find this doggy!!
Any news, Jonathon?

Spent 4 1/2 hours running
Spent 4 1/2 hours running around up and down Dream Weaver, BP, St.George's, etc.. Nothing, but there were many people and many dog walkers (with packs of dogs) out there combing the area. Talked to a gentleman who lost his collie last fall in Princess Park. It was spooked by fireworks. A week later it was found in the British Properties. We will just have to keep on looking.
keep looking
Thanks for your effort! We're hoping to head out again Sunday and try to go in the area where they apparently saw footprints of a large dog in the snow (without a human companion) a while back. Poor beast, he must be so cold and scared, I hope we can find him. On the other hand I hope they have polygraphed the dog walker.
