Spent last weekend at Ross Lake making the climb up Skyline II and part way across the top. Forgot my camera Saturday so did this again Sunday for two 6½ hr days but got some pics. If you've never been up this trail it's gonna be interesting with 136K on the legs. Heather calls this a challenging finish and I'd be inclined to agree. Patience on the day of this 100miler will be key.
Michael, I'll see you out there.

Fat Dog recon!
Hi Randy!
I also did some Fat Dog scouting a couple of weekends back.
The climb up to Cathedral along the Lakeview trail is a real indicator of how tough this 100 will be. That first climb is a gentle slap in the face to say 'you better take it easy' and as you have indicated you may have to do that the whole way!
I ran with a couple of folks Pat and Kathy an 'out and back' along the Skagit river from Sumallo Grove to almost 26 mile bridge and back approx 4hrs ~1,500 feet elev. Then Pat and I drove back to Cascade and did an out-and-back along the Skagit Bluffs trail. In under 6km (12k total) we had an elevation gain of ~1,700 feet! Undulating to say the least!
Let's hope it stays coolish, if it gets hot this will be one tough course!
See you Thursday (yikes one week!).
Cheers,
Mike
