Come clean with old Jackson... =;-)
I think the term "Sunshine Coast" was created by real estate promoters looking to pull the wool over the eyes of lower mainlanders and others hoping to escape the monsoons.
In any case, I sacrificed my run today so my lovely wife could enjoy it. (Someone had to take care of the brats.)
BTW, it's raining cats and dogs in North Van. I hope the sun is shining on all of the Fat Asses who took to the trails for Sunshine in September!

Ean thanks for taking care of your chilluns and the North Shore for us. It was another great day of running with the group and we hardly felt the cleansing showers on us at all.
After a bit of moisture found us it was smooth sailing and fun times heading back down the mountain and into skies that were virtually sunny. The temp had even warmed as we enjoyed the post event chow and changed some of our barely wet clothes. The 'Sunshine Coast' moniker in my mind remains fully intact considering that by the time the ferry docked in Horseshoe Bay it was a full-on downpour.
Looking forward to going again next year. Thanks very much to Jackie too for taking on SinS and especially so we could have a gear drop thank goodness.

It looks like Monty, Heather, Des and I are all getting a ride with Craig. We'll be driving by the church, but since our car will be full, I recommend the rest of you congregating there, organize your rides and do not wait for us. Given the long weekend, you should leave the church no later than 6:40 as noted on the agenda page.

Hi all,
Sorry for the no show... I showed up just a bit later than ferry left... oopps... I'll take the negative points and make sure next couple of events I pick up extra garbage to make it up.
Unfortunately will have to miss the next weekend as i'm running a road marathon, hoping to achieve my BQ time.
With the help of some Sunshine Coast runners (Thanks Larry and Teresa!) we were able to find an alternate route for the first 3k of the Sunshine in September course. Rather than going up that (nasty!) highway, there are some interesting trails that we will be using, running alongside the highway. Still have to go up! up! up!, but at least it's interesting.
Revised route will be posted shortly, but prepare yourself for some rocky trail and singletrack. A couple of rickety old bridges and I'm sure a few snakes in the grass...

Hey Claudia, Sorry you
Hey Claudia,
Sorry you missed the ferry and drove all the way to Horseshoe Bay for nothing... We were wondering about you and hoping you were ok.
Are you running Victoria Marathon?
We'll miss you on the trails,
Sibylle
