An outing for everyone and all speeds up the majestic Chief. Possible post-event cafe or potlach picnic near the water. Meet at the park's parking lot at 8:30am, start at 9:00am. Bring your mojo!
It climbs like the Grouse Grind so besides the first 1km or so we would power climb through, and all three peaks takes about 2h. Peaking sunshine awoke us on the Monday morning, and along the way we agreed we'd combine the Chief and the Squaw, a lesser known peak behind the chief. It turns out this will have added an additional 5 hours to our 2h for the chief, having us enjoy the mountain for a total of 7h. Truly, we did enjoy each hour, converting would-be headaches and frustrations into jokes and allowing the mountain to expose some of its hidden treasures. Thankfully both food and water we both had in excess, and time was not an issue, so if we came across a fork in the road, we made sure we'd explore one path to its completion, then turn around and adventure into the either - voila the reason for our prolonged day =)
As a cherry on top of the cake, we settled in at the scotiabank theatre downtown to ease down to Thor's journey of his own. Pics up soon
