23 October 2010 - Rachel, Sibylle and Reagan ready to start.
Event Report: It was a very small field that started the Seawall 100 this year. The usual suspects were notably absent. One was busy taking care of a new baby, two are out with injuries, another claims he was too busy earning a living and the last left the province to avoid having to do the run. Can't understand why, it's such a pretty course. It was a great day for running and the forecast rain held off until the very end.
Congratulations to Rachel for putting on such a great performance. She set out to run further than 82 K and longer than 12 hours. She ran strong all day. If there were bonus points awarded for cheerfullness she would get lots. It's nice to see someone enjoying a long run. Special thanks to those who came out to support her.
You can read a complete report of Rachel's adventure on her blog.

* Bonus points - picked up garbage
Please advise if you picked up trash, helped an old lady cross the street or other point worthy deeds. If I have missed someone, please advise as well.
Glorious 8km along the West Van Seawall with Rachel and Reagan. Ankle hung in there, although it is far from perfect - maybe just running through it might resolve the problem ;-)
Wildlife count: numerous ravens, crows, comorants, seagulls and ducks, one mouse and 2 playful sea otters.

I had a great time
I can't believe how we lucked out with good weather all morning. I hope Rachel didn't get too soaked in the afternoon/evening...
It was Jan 1 when I last ran on the road (er.. seawall) and I was amazed how the distance just flew by. Good company sure helps. :-)
Cheers!
