Flash - North Van Night Run

30 Jul 2011 01:00
Location:
North Vancouver- End of the Line General Store

Why?  In preparing for an upcoming 100 mile race, thought it might be a good idea for a long night run. Thought we would start late/early, since how often do you get to see the sunrise when you are running?

Where?  Meeting place is End of the Line General Store, at the top of Lynn Valley Road. Meeting time is 1:00AM (Saturday morning).  The rough route from there is –

Section 1: LSCR parking lot - Twin bridges Trail - Fisherman's Trail - Hydraulic Connector - paved Seymour Valley Trailway (or trail next to) back to parking lot (fill up water, food etc).

Section 2: Varley Trail - BP to Mountain Highway - Mountain Highway all the way up to Grouse – Back to End of the Line.

We are aiming for 5 hours total.

What to Bring?  Beside all the usual running stuff, good lighting for yourself (i.e. good headlamp) and extra batteries (just in case!).

Great idea. Tentative yes for

Great idea. Tentative yes for me.

I should be able to more or less stick with your pace for the first section. Not that it should matter, it's easy enough of a route that I won't get lost.

Too bad there is nothing to bag along the way.

It will be fun...

Hi Eric- it would be fun for you to join us. The more the merrier to scare away the things that go 'bump' in the night!  There are 4 for us planning on going so far; no worries about pace.  Our intention is for a nice slowish paced run; plan to all stay together and enjoy the night!

I should be there tonight,

I should be there tonight, but I can't guarantee it, I have to be at the airport earlier in the evening. So please don't wait for me if I'm not there by 1am. Thanks.
