Recap

Karen and I arrived shortly before 9:00 p.m. at the cornerstore on Lynn Valley Road and waited an extra five minutes for anyone who might join us. When at 9:05 no one showed up we made our way down Varley trail towards the Headwaters; over the bridge and past Rice Lake down to Twin Bridges. I had planned to do the short version of my previous flash event and perhaps should have been more clear on the website that I would announce it at the start. Oh well. By the time we passed Rice Lake it was dark and we switched our lamps on. There was not another soul on the trail(s). We made our way up to Bridal and headed towards old Buck when - while chatting perhaps a bit too much - we got "lost" and found ourselves on an unknown trail UPHILL when we should have gone downhill. Thankfully both Karen and myself know these trails quite well so we turned around to see where we made the mistake. One hour and a half had passed and I suggested perhaps to just head back. That would give us a three hour run. Good enough. Karen had done 120km on her bike that day in preparation for the Penticton Ironman and I had a 16mile run ahead of me Sunday morning. Once we got to the point where we got lost we headed back when - in the middle of the trail where we had come through 15-20 earlier - we saw a HUGE still STEAMING black bear poo decorated with red berries.....yikes! We made even more noise now and decided to change the route slightly heading towards Hyannis. Once there we took the BP back and once at Lilloeet we stayed on the road back to the "start". It took us just under three hours. It was a good little adventure! Now it's Stormy taper time.... see ya' all there! Sylvie

I'll join you

Hey Sylvie: I can't make the night run this weekend since my band is up in Yellowknife for some gigs, so I'll come out next weekend. See you then. Ryan
