Summer Run of the JDF Trail?

Hey you old jackal,

Our north-south run of the whole Juan de Fuca trail last year was the high point of my summer.  I wonder if it's possible to get closer to a whale than we were?  I'm very keen on doing it again and tacking on some camping on the beach as opposed to the parking lot.  Might be good to give it a go in July after the Knee Knacker?

Word on the street is that the big wind storm last Novermber caused a lot of damage to the JDF trail.  I'm curious to hear how "runable" the trail is now.

Have a great run and I look forward to your trail report.

Pre-preview run

Yes Ean that sounds like an excellent idea.

I saw a lot of good work,(fresh sawdust). The "cut-here guys" have been working like beavers.

The trail is in good shape, the section from China Beach to the 12Kpole,(after Bear beach.

Here is a short video I took...

JDFT 4 hour jaunt

So we all made it back safely!
Lara drove Paul Jo and me.
Ludo and his gang were waiting for us at Sombrio trailhead.
Two groups ran...
Ludo,Lara and Jo were swift, Paul and I, less so.
We experienced four seasons in 4 hours.
I will dream about this one for quite some time.
ILTS!
movie to follow shortly...
