Cyclebetes: It began in 2007 with one promise, one Champion and it spread. It began with a promise that a father made to his daughter. Vancouver businessman Kyle Balagno promised his daughter Taylor he would do everything in his power to help find a cure for her juvenile (type one) diabetes before her 18th birthday. He had 6 years. That commitment spawned Cyclebetes series of events. Please support this team by donating today.

Talk it up and make it happen! This year we have a special - NS Mayors Team! (PLEASE CHECK TO SEE THAT I HAVE YOUR TEAM INFORAMATION)
2. MUSIC - If you know any good music entertainers – we would love them to come and Rock it out with us – let me know if you know any musicians that would like to come play a set!
3. “RIDERS LOUNGE” - Ross Bonnetti – last year’s big money raiser - is sponsoring the event by providing a “Riders Lounge” – couches, lamps and healthy food and drinks will be available at the Riders Lounge. Thanks Ross!
4. SPONSORSHIP- Thus far we have John Henry Bikes, Starbucks, Norco, Northern Athletics, SD 45, Collingwood School, and Ross Bonnetti helping with the event. Please let me know if you want to or know of anybody who wants to help sponsor the event. (Food, water….)
5. REGISTRATION – Print off and complete registration forms from http://cyclebetes.blogspot.com/ and drop them off at Rockridge or John Henry Bikes or Email ian.kennedy@collingwood.org – please include
a. team name
b. team captain
c. team captain’s email so that we can keep you updated
d. Indicate Yes – I need a spinner or No – my team has a spinner
6. SPINNERS – We have a limited number of Stationary Bikes. As a result, teams need to bring a bike with a slick (non treaded) rear tire. A spinner attaches to your bike, holds it stationary, and allows you to spin on your bike without moving. http://www.kurtkinetic.com/ see this link to see what a spinner/trainer looks like. If you need a spinner – John Henry Bikes is providing them for us – but we need to know ahead of time. If you have your own – Great!!!!
7. TEAM CAPTAINS – Start to plan your shifts – remember this is not a “sleep over event” – we are in a gym – so start to plan who is spinning when!
8. CYCLEBETES LITE - 12 – HOUR OPTION – 4:00 pm to 10:00pm and 6:00 am to 4:00 pm - for younger participants or smaller teams that cannot do the full 24 hours.
9. WAIVERS –ALL participants must complete the WAIVIER - http://cyclebetes.blogspot.com/ - Print off the registrations form – the waiver is part of the form. Each team member must fill out the waiver and ALL school aged participants must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver.
10. FOOD AND DRINKS – There will be some food and drinks available – The Caulfield Mall – is just across the rd.
