Report: We had a good crowd out, with a number of newbie members testing the waters and Event Host, Tara, testing her baby jogger with one of her twin boys along for the ride. The weather was beautiful. If memory serves right, this was the first and only Burnaby Mountain Run, when the rains were not torrential and we even got to enjoy the touted view ;-)
Des had registered, but wasn't toeing the startline - a bunch of point hounds very jubilating, only to discover, that Des had put in an early start and collected points alright. Almost everybody collected litter of the trail to do their good deed of the day and of course keep up with Des and Reagan in the Point Series.
After the run, Porker and his friends reconvened for coffee an baked goods to Cafe Artegianio. We all agreed it was a perfect choice of venue to end a great run with friends.

gee des ... that's too bad about the -5 points and all.
Thanks Tara for keeping the spirit of Burnaby Mountain alive for us. Jess and I were a bit startled in the beginning of the run though - I'm not sure that either one of us have ever led any run anywhere before but we were doin' it on the way down for quite a while. Of course reality sunk in soon enough as the other runners caught up and slipped past. Thanks so much for the fantastic amazing weather and the ultimate view of the snow covered North Shore Bagger mountains.

Yeh, Des,
Craig and I put forward a motion at the end of the Burnaby Mountain run regarding the points competition that went something to the effect of "... if a former points competition winner does not sign-in, does not have a witness for trash pickup, does not sign-out and otherwise is antisocial in any way deemed appropriate by those Fat Asses in attendance, (s)he should both suffer public ridicule and be docked 5 points."
Anything to state in your defense?
If it makes you feel any better, at least one of your Fat Ass friends showed up at the start of the Diez Vista 50K without consulting the event website for details. He wasn't allowed to start because there were no race day registrations. He did make it to Burnaby Mountain in time for the start and managed to earn a point in the points competition just the same.

Perfect day for a perfect run. Many thanks for hosting, Tara.
'Had hoped to catch up in person over a post-run latte, but had to leave around noon because the Porker was getting a bit out of hand. It started off badly when the Red Bull girls came by and got him all stoked up on caffeine before the run. He started misbehaving with Rachel's rubber duck at the start got into my bitters in the coffee shop afterwards. (And you thought twins were a handful!)
Thanks again, and hope to see you out with the double stroller at the next CFA run!

I got the start time mixed up - was there for 8:30, had the directions so decided to head out - only two minor detours - took me 1:51 a good hill workout indeed! Was passed by runners who started at the correct time on the slope back up Burnaby Mtn. Thanks for the opportunity!
I started at 8:15 or so. I did the first lap in 1:17 and the second lap in 1:27 for a total of 2:44 . I also picked up some garbage along the way . I didn't see the sign in sheet anywhere . I did see the XS -NRG car after the first lap but it was gone when I finished the second.

Yeh, right
Nice try. I'm buying the story that was circulating around the start that you slept in...

Hi Des, We didn't notice your car until we finished our run - thought you slept in.
There has been a change in the point rules - no shows at the start now get 5 points subtracted. I am sure you are cool with that...
Sorry, we missed you. Sign up sheet was on Tara's car ;-)
