Course

Despite the detailed description and warnings (e.g. If in doubt, read the directions!!), people may get lost and end up running way more than the planned 25 kms if they don't carry and read the course description. Consider it a rite of passage.

This is an informal, environmentally-friendly event. Be sure to print this agenda and the course description and bring them with you to the run as there are no flags, marshalls or other directions. (I recommend you put them in a plastic baggie, as they will otherwise surely turn to mush.) Better yet, go out and do a fun pre-run on the course to get to know it...  but still please bring the directions.

Notes

  • Run to the Clouds is not a race, but we do keep track of your times so you have something to compare to next year
  • we hope everyone will run the same course, but won't disqualify folks for getting lost, adding on and running extra distance
  • this event is not sponsored, sanctioned, permitted or anything else that would qualify it as an official event
  • Free parking, washrooms/change facilities are available at the main beach area of Buntzen Lake.
  • The lake is clear (and cold) if anyone wants to go for a post run swim.
  • Expect rain, maybe snow, some trails, some gravel road, some old friends and maybe some new
  • Note: With the earlier date this year and the long cold winter we have been having, there may still be some snow or packed ice on the trails... please be careful and be prepared for this.
