A fun, low key shuffle (hike or run) on a 29 km section of the Sunshine Coast Trail

Hosted by the PRPAWS (Powell River Parks and Wilderness Society), the Powell River Hikers and the BOMB (Bloody Old Men's Brigade) Squad to promote the beauty of the Sunshine Coast Trail

Great single track trails through old growth, temperate rain forests, along creeks and lakeshores, through dales and over hills

Along the way see one of the nine shelters constructed on the Sunshine Coast Trail that include sleeping lofts, picnic tables and outhouses

Magnificent vistas of the Sunshine Coast, adjacent islands, nearby lakes and the city.

Where and When?

Sunday 27 April 2014 - Meet at the Kinsmen parking lot, above the Shingle Mill Pub and Bistro parking lot at 7:15 am for sign-in (and last minute registration). Catch a hassle free bus ride (7:30 - 7:45) to the start and hike/run back to your car at the Shingle Mill. The bus service is donated by volunteer bus drivers and the City of Powell River. There are two forty-five passenger buses available on a first come, first serve basis. Over and above the bus service, participants will need to make their own carpooling arrangements to the start.

Full Shuffle - 08:30 start on Malaspina Road north of Powell River, British Columbia, Canada, 2 km south of Lund, 1 km east off Highway 101.

Half Shuffle - 10:00 start on Wilde/Tomkinson Road at the intersection with the Sunshine Coast Trail. Sign in at 9:45 am.

There is no bus service for the Half Shuffle. Road access to the Half Shuffle is via a rugged 6 km gravel road.

Full and Half Shuffle finish at the Shingle Mill Pub and Bistro.

How Much?

This is a Flash event and membership in Club Fat Ass is not required, however donations to the Powell River Parks and Wilderness Society (PRPAWS) are encouraged and most welcome. New tools are required after 20 years of wear and tear.

Please sign up for this free event online and in advance. This will allow us to keep the logistics immediately before the event to a minimum.
