I had thought maybe I would walk part of this, but since it's on my actual due date, perhaps not (I'm just not like the lady who ran the Chicago marathon at 38 weeks, power to her). Although at that point I might be walking the fancy new MacKay Creek trail trying to get this baby OUT...
This was the first CFA run I ever did, and now it basically goes through my backyard! So I can watch y'all from the balcony (+/- throw slugs at you). If there's no baby yet maybe we'll wander down to the newly-gentrified trail with a surprise aid station. Maybe! (that keeps it surprising).
Looking forward to getting back on the trails in a running way, and wishing you all a fun time!
Hehe, 18th is a lovely date to have a baby... it happens to be my b-day ;-) We'll be looking for you at the new MacKay Creek trail...and assume you are in the delivery room if we don't see you. Less than a month to go!
I just realized this *wasn't* the first CFA run I ever did, the first one was the Mardi Gras night run. You'd think I could tell the difference between a summer night run and a winter one... although I do recall that year it was actually quite warm during early spring so maybe my memory lapse isn't so crazy!
Couldn't believe it... I was out running the long course tonight and saw that the infamous Mackay Creek jungle run section had been replaced by a super highway! No more slippery logs. No more scalpings on low-hanging branches. Times will fall this year!
