My buddy John plans to bunk at the Elfin Cabin tonight. I asked him to send a brief report of how the trail is if there is reception for his iPhone up there.

My neighbor, a scoutmaster, has a bunch of MSR snowshoes. They aren't being used this weekend, so he has offered them to anyone who wants to do the Scrambler for a $10 donation.
If you want a pair, leave a note here and I'll pick them up for you tonight.
We have one more spot in the car. Please be at 3515 Fairmont Road in North Van at 7:45am. We are close to Highway #1 between the Westview and Capilano exits.

Hey guys, just a heads up, I've mentioned to Ryan a few times that the store does not open till 9.30am on Sat and I'm sure the staff will need a few minutes to get people set up with their rentals. We are glad to help out and be associated with things, just wanted to be clear in advance though.
For each pair of snowshoes, we don't need $250 casht we just need to pre-auth a CC for that amount for the day. Nothing is charged unless the snowshoes don't return, and the rentals are only ten bucks.

There was a miscommunication between myself and Gary, I thought he said someone could rent to us before the store opened.
There have also been some concerns about the short day so we will meet at the Tim Horton's in Squamish instead at 9:00 and carpool to the trailhead in the best suited vehicles. This will get us up onto the trail a good 45 minutes earlier.
Anyody with extra seats or needing aride to Squamish from Vancouver, North Shore ect... post comments here to arrange.

I blew the shift and apologize to those who wanted to have a memorable ride in Delila the Delica! I have a prior commitment that I thought was happening next weekend.

Hi Ryan et al,
Any idea how much snow is uo in the Elfin hut area? I've signed up for this little ditty and wanted to know if I need snowshoes or not! I also have my Delica (4x4 van) on the road and can offer to carpool 3 lucky soles. The back seat is not installed to carry more people but I can carry lots of gear!

Yo Adventure Mike,
Old Jackson ripped his calf up again, but game to test it with a snowshoe jog. 'Had planned to kick your ass on the long course, but best laid plans have gone into the shitter and now looking at getting to Red Heather and back in one piece before sunset.
Got room for 2 in the happy bus? (Reagan and me.)
PS I have almost slid down the cliff on that last stretch before the Diamond Head parking lot a couple of times. Recommend chains be in the trunk just in case. I have chains that should fit the Delica. Give me a heads-up if you want them.

Plenty of snow from the parking lot on up. Red Heather and Elfin Shelters have a snow level at about half a meter above the doorway.

Snow from the parking lot
I was up there on Sunday. Road is bare/plowed to the parking lot. There is snow right from the cars. Pretty good up top.
