So, you can all thank Mike, Melissa and me for bravely going out on the trail this morning, just to ensure that all is well for TOMORROW'S run (note to M&M - did I not ASK that?? - Mike: 'No, no, these runs are always on Saturday, but this is WEIRD'. Ya, I'll say weird.) So anyway, the road is in excellent running condition, until oh, about the 3rd switchback, where you might want to strap on those snowshoes. Because from that point on, you are in danger of losing your feet, ankles, shins, thighs, to frostbite. And be sure to keep a close eye out for your running partner, as they may disappear altogether, if they are slightly on the bulky side. So, Mike/Melissa - you up for a repeat??? Happy trails...P

What date change? It's *always* been on Sunday! Look at today as being a bonus run to familiarze yourself with the conditions and blow away the field tomorrow! =;-)
I even came home earliesh....midnight and sober, from Spirit of the West because Michael told me we were getting up at 6am to prepare for our outing today! I am thrilled that we were not the only confused runners out there. We had a blast and trail blazed for all of you heading out tomorrow! You might not see me, but Penny? Maybe! Have a great time and just for the records, we did one lap at 1:52:00 I think.

Holey smokeroonies... one of the people who has registered for MHM tomorrow claims he will go for the course record of five (5) laps of 15K!
Las Vegas odd are 2:3 against him. However, before you place *your* bets, consider the following:
This particular individual has run over 100 ultramarathons
He has been on the Canadian 100K run team, so he's no slouch
This person has been training fairly consistently of late
He's a greenhorn on the course. May not know what he's getting into? That said, he might have been training on the course this week?
It seems to me it was only yesterday that the first person ran MHM four (4) times. Tomorrow, 4 people are proposing to at least tie this record of *only* 60K. What fools would even try?

Hey Ellie:
I can give you a ride. I am probably doing 3 laps unless there is lots of snow still and its too slow going then 2. I could easily pick you up, I'm only about 5 minutes away, or you could meet me at my place (12th and Victoria). I can drop you off if you're in for about the same distance.
See you tonight at the workout?
If anyone else reads this and needs one let me know.
Ryan
Is anyone going to be driving over and would be able to give me a ride to Mountain Highway Madness? I live at Main/ 23rd but can get anywhere in the city but cycling to Mountain Highway is a little too much for me right now! I can make my own way back by transit after the event so we don't have to be running same distance/ pace. Will buy you coffee/ gas/ beer in return!

Word on the street (second hand, but credited to Wader who is cranking it up for the Western States 100-miler) is that there's plenty of snow on the Mountain Highway Madness course this year. It's supposed to be fairly warm and rainy this week, so a lot of it could melt away, but best to have it in mind as you pack for Sunday that there might be snow on old Mountain Highway.
Rumor central also tells me that Kintec will be out with a tent and some goodies (gels, bars, sport drink) on event day, so plan to run an extra lap or two!

Ean - why the heck did you change the run to SUNDAY?
Date change?
It's always been on Sunday!
I hope I didn't talk to you about MHM being on Saturday??? I know it's Sunday, but could be guilty of saying Saturday and thinking Sunday...
3rd switchback, eh. Sounds like I might want to sleep in!
Mtn Highway Madness...a day early
You really have to listen to
75K? Will there be a new course record established???
