For those of you that know me, this posting won't come as a surprise that it has nothing to do with running, but everything to do with clothing.
New Year's Day I decided to try out my new MEC Jetstreak Jacket on the slopes of Grouse Mountain. Now if it wasn't -5 degrees, I would have only needed this jacket. However, it WAS my first run of the season and cold so I threw my Patagucci shell over top of it. For $95 this slick looking jacket is windproof and waterproof, has warmth, stretch AND breathability. I got one, too!
I love my green version of the same Jetstreak jacket. I have worn it during the Pure Satisfaction and the Vancouver New Year's Day FA 50 with just a longsleeve Club Fat Ass shirt underneath and it was perfect throughout the run. I also loved it during the cold spell we had: temperature was cozy with my trusty CFA long sleeve shirt and a MEC thermal hoodie underneath. Haven't tested it in rain yet...that's going to be the big one for me. If it keeps me happy during a 3 hour slog in a west coast downpour there will never be another running jacket.
