Cascade Crest

Well, a few fat asses successfully ran the 2008 Cascade Crest 100 miler. David Crear did exceptionally well and came in 16th overall in 25 :34. Then John and Karl had an Olympic photo finish in 25:50 (if you look at the race results, there is an error). Daniel Probst, Al Harman, Gille Barbeau and others all had a good finish.

I will start posting some picture to my flickr page today. Gilles now has a camera that he can take along the trail and he brought back some fantastic views to share with me. I will upload those as well. Looking at them, may make you want to sign up with Cascade Crest or at least understand why these crazy fools do it so may times. Gilles, John and Daniel all finishe dfo rthe third time. Woohoo!

The photo above was taken at the 54 mile aid station. The boys were excited to have just spent 2.7 miles in a really cool dark tunnel and were very cooperative when I wante dto take their picture with Frosty. THe aid station had a Cristmas theme with christmas lights and christmas cookies, the works.

Congrats to all!

How was the weather? A few of us were slogging up Haynes Valley & Thunderbird Ridge in monsoon like conditions on Sunday morning & wondering about the CCCers.

No rain even for the slow pokes

Actually the weather for the race was quite nice all along with a beautiful star night. It started to drizzle just as I got to Easton and then buckets of water were awaiting me at the Fire Hall ;)
