While on a recent baggage expedition, it occurred to me that baggers and baguettes have a language unto themselves. For the benefit of those who are new to the Bagger Challenge and baggery, in general, I thought it would be a good idea to define some of the key terms and expressions.
In the spirit of Wikipedia, I invite all readers to comment on the definitions I have put forward below. Please also propose terms and expressions you feel are relevant. (Click on "Add new comment" below.)
I will consolidate all of the comments at the end of the 2010 North Shore Bagger Challenge and give credit to key contributors.
Bagging Terms
Bagger Challenge
A competition where baggers bag named peaks within a particular area during a particular time-frame.
Baggery
The act of bagging peaks.
Bagger
Short for Peak Bagger. A male adult or child who bags mountain peaks in the Bagger Challenge.
Baguette
Short for Peak Bagger. A female adult or child who bags mountain peaks in the Bagger Challenge.
Bagger Host
The person who hosts a Bagger Challenge. This esteemed individual or group spends countless hours selecting the peaks that will be included in a Bagger Challenge, keeps score of a bagger's baggage and otherwise runs the show.
Baggermeister
A bagger or baguette who has been bestowed the honor by the Bagger Host. (Much as an exceptional member of the rhelm might be knighted by a king or queen.) This esteemed individual may have won a Bagger Challenge, bagged an exceptional number of peaks, overcome some exceptional hardship while on a bagging expedition, contributed in some exceptional way to a Bagger Challenge or done some other noble deed. Awarded at the discretion of the Host Bagger.
Bagger Council
A quorum of baggermeisters. Bagger Council meetings are held from time-to-time to debate policy, bagger terms, approve of new Bagger Challenges and the like.
Bagger's Banquet
The ceremony at the end of a Bagger Challenge where spirits flow, honors are bestowed and baggers and baguettes of all ages celebrate friendship and pay hommage to the great outdoors.
WaterBag
The ascent of a single peak from sea level to the summit. This is a special, more respected category of bag. Requires dipping toe or other digit in the ocean at the start of a bagging ascent. WaterBagging multiple peaks in a bagger circuit requires that the bagger descend to sea level and dip their digit in the ocean between ascents.
SandBag
The act of not submitting a baggage claim within 3 days of bagging a peak. This act is frowned upon because it does not give other baggers an accurate picture of the current state of a Bagger Challenge. Current rules call for baggage claims of more than two weeks old to be stale-dated.
ShitBag
An ascent to a peak that really sucks. Criteria include, but are not limited to: no trail to the peak (aka "bushwhack"), little or no signage, no view at the peak (in good weather), too dangerous for normal mortals, too much blowdown on the trail, little or no running en route to the peak and so on.
CircuitBag
Bagging more than one peak during a bagging expedition. An efficient way to approach a Bagger Challenge.
ScumBag
A bagger or other trail user who leaves litter on the trail or otherwise does things that are not nice to flora, fauna or other baggers.

NutBag
A bagger or baguette, given the nature of this "sport". Can also refer to either the plastic ziplock baggie used to contain the concoction that fuels the bagger/baguette, or the contents of said baggie. (aka Trail mix.) May include, but not limited to: peanuts, chocolate chips, smarties, almonds, granola, raisins, cranberries, coconut, sunflower seed, Brazil nuts, walnuts.

Rim Shot
Not a bag at all! As with basketball and horseshoes, a rim shot does not get a point.
A rim shot occurs when a Bagger either:
1. Bags the wrong peak in error
2. Chickens-out before arriving at the summit (ChickenBag)
RaceBag
Bagging performed at race pace.
--Put forward by David Crerar as we hammered home from Burwell Mountain hoping to get off the mountain before darkness. We lost... but it was close!
SpeedBag

BikeBag
A baggage expedition that involves the use of a bicycle. May facilitate getting to remote trail-heads on burly logging roads faster than running. Don't forget your helmet.

Cliffish
An adjective used when classifying steepish bushwhacks that are trending steeper. For example, "'Looking a bit cliffish over here..." seconds before a lot of crashing in the bush, a thud and an "Owwww!"
Bagger's Bounty
The wonderful things that baggers find while bagging. Generally classified in terms of natural and man made.

A bagger who frequent passes wind during a bagging expedition. Causes include, but are not limited to, consumption of copious amounts of trail mix (dried fruits, nuts and other organic material).
Trailish
An adjective that indicates the possibility of a trail. For example, a group of baggers are hopeless lost and beating the bushes in search of a way out. "This looks trailish!" means someone has stumbled across something that offers promise. First documented use was during the epic bag by Neil Ambrose, David Crerar and Ean Jackson (Dickens Detour) in September 2010.

Cloudbag
The act of bagging a peak that is shrouded by clouds.

A bagger or baguette in an over-hydrated state who who may find "relief" en route to a peak. May also refer to an intoxicated bagger (ill advised!!!)

Shopping Bag
a peak which is gender biased in favor of women due to the proximity to clothing stores. These peaks depend disproportionately more on a sense of fashion, a high limit on the credit card and less on fitness, endurance, finesse, or climbing ability. The lift-serviced approach to Grouse Mountain via the sports shop and latte bar is a shopping bag.

Man Bag
a peak which is gender biased in favour of men due to the sheer muscular strength required to bag it. These peaks depend disproportionately more on muscular strength and less on fitness, endurance, finesse, or climbing ability. The Hydraulic Creek approach to the South Needle is a man bag.
BtW: a similar phenomenon exists in downhill skiing. No matter how good a skier a woman is, she probably hates moguls for the same reason.
Micro Bag
a peak which can be bagged with relatively little time, effort or planning. Micro bags might fit nicely on your list of Saturday errands, say between weeding the garden and going to Home Depot, and they leave little in the way of evidence for an objecting partner to pick up on. North Shore micro bags would include Hollyburn, Lynn, Grouse, Black, and Strachan. A micro bag for those on Bowen Island would be Collins, but Collins would not be a micro bag for those living on the North Shore.
Micro Shit Shopping Bag
That would be Collins if one ran via the main drag on Bowen Island and stopped to check out the shops and have a latte en route =;-)
Eco Bag
the bagging of a peak wherein all travel from one's home to the peak and home again is self-propelled.
SkiBag
Bagging of a peak that involves the use of skis. Also see snowshoe bag, snowboard bag, crampon bag.
Low-Hanging Bag
as in "low-hanging fruit". The easiest peaks to summit in the Bagger Challenge.
Double Bag
When a bagger bags 2 peaks in one day
Dirt Bag
A bagger who lives to bag peaks and does so at all costs. (e.g. lives in his/her car or in an old tent in the woods or a tree house, wears old gear, may not wash often, etc.) May also refer to a particularly dirty or muddy baggage expedition.
Fun Bag
An enjoyable bagging.
Suit Bag
The ascent of a peak wearing business attire.

Windbag
A CircuitBag that is facilitated using a sailboat. May also refer to a particularly vocal or chatty bagger.
DoggieBag
When a peak is bagged by a canine companion. (Note: One of the top finishers in the 2009 North Shore Bagger Challenge was a hound.)
Slagger
A bagger who speaks ill of a fellow bagger.
