For those following Ferg's exploits, he has applied to be one of 12 participants in a tribute to Terry Fox's run from St. John's, NFLD to Thunder Bay, Ontario: a marathon a day for 143 days, starting on April 12th, and finishing on Labour Day.
The runners' progress will be covered in a series of CBC television specials, with the CBC working in conjunction with the Terry Fox Foundation.

If you wanted to leave a positive comment on Ferg's video, I am sure that that would not hurt his chances for selection.
The event is also a fundraiser, so if you are planning your donations for 2009, this would be a worthy and ultra-running-connected cause.

Gary Robbins is in, too
I *think* it's OK to confirm that Club Fat Ass member Gary Robbins has also thrown his hat in the ring for the Terry Fox Run.
I believe I know both Ferg and Gary well enough to know that if they are selected, they will both spit blood rather than not complete the distance each day of the run. Kudos to the CBC for coming up with the idea and good luck to both Gary and Ferg... this could be a very exciting challenge!
PS Saw your name in the credits for Ferg's movie. Good on 'ya!
