Proposed date for the JDFT

I would just love to run the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail this July 21st.

I'will check the tides and times but this will take a bit of planning.

I've done it faster from Botanical to  China beach Car pooling is the way to go for up to six and a driver.

That worked well last year....

Post as a Flash Event

Hi Carlos,

Nice to see you this weekend.  Glad you could stay over.  Hope you had a good journey home.

Once you confirmed the tide schedule and firmed up the date, please post this as a Flash Event here

Sibylle

Doh!!

That date clashes with Bill's event!

Back to the planner...

Got that right!

You don't want to force me to open up a can of "Whoop-ass" on ya!

... cont.

Not to mention making it exceedingly difficult for me to participate in the JDF event.Laughing

Trail conditions

As of January 31, 2007: Juan de Fuca Trail has been cleared of downed trees and hazards from Km 0 Juan de Fuca Trailhead to km 2 Mystic Beach camping area. No access beyond Mystic at this time. Beach access points at Botanical and Sombrio are open - we are looking to open more portions of the trail over the next few weeks. Much of the trail requires further assessment - full opening date is unknown. Updates will be posted here once they are available.

I hope that by late July (28th) it will all be open.

A preliminary look for the 28th gives a high tide at Renfrew of 9ft. at 13:21 , how that would affect the two beach sections, could decide where and when we start.

Hmm, 9ft. at 2ish, we should be past Sombrio. if we start at the Port Renfrew end. Is 9 ft. High for those beaches?
