Quantcast

Holberg to Port Hardy 50K

Ms.J and I just got back from one fabulous W/E with the friends and families that partook in the sixth annual Foot Roast.
The race was won by Dave Johnstone of Sointula, second place went to Brad from Nanaimo and the Harriers swept the next three positions.
Winning time,Dave 4:12:.., Brad 4:40ish, and Jackal 4:47.., Marcia 5:01..,RJ very close behind maybe a few minutes!
Marcia was the fastest girl there and I think that she may hold the C.R. as this year we ran right into town to make it a full 50K.
The weather held out and we had a treat in the woods and lakes of the North Island. From early morning mist to full tilt sun to mist again, lifting to a clear bright crisp after run rest of the day.
I was happy with my sub five but was not happy with my swollen Plantar...
Four heavy weeks of 50K's , run back to back will do it to ya, especially if you do it mainly on logging Rds. and with bagged shoes.
Rest and new shoes are in order for next week.
ILTS!

Take care of that Plantar Fasciitis

Hey Carlos,

Time to take a rest! Don't wreck those feet ;-)

What a georgeous weekend to be out though. We (the family) were at Garibaldi Provincial Park hiking to Garibaldi Lake.  Longest hike (18km) yet for the little Jackson's... Views were wonderful and we even were treated to seeing all runners doing the Rubble Creek Classic.  Quite a few FA out.

Cheers

Sibylle

On the mend

I'm hardly limping, but I am not planning to run till next week.
I will have to miss the October Eve run, but I will be breaking in new shoes and tapering up and down for the month of October.
Mr.Mud, I too will be running a 100M, The first W/E of November, in Arizona..
Life is good....
