A Dream Of Giants - Book Launch Extravaganza

What:

• Vancouver launch of "A Dream of Giants", a book about the Sunshine Coast Trail, by Emma Larocque
• Highlights of the trail by Bob Davey, PRPAWS Board Member and trail builder
• first hand information about the trail and the upper Sunshine Coast area for hikers, runners, canoeists, kayakers, environmentalists and others who might be interested in taking an adventure holiday close to the lower mainland  

Cost:

• Free.  (Signup required due to space limitations.  Please register below)

Agenda: 

7:00 pm

• Mix and mingle.  Chat with Emma and Bob about the trail. Buy a book and get it signed by the author! Check out Dave's new store.

• welcome, introductions by Dave Cressman
• images of the trail and the people

• inspiration for writing the book
• the process of writing the book 
• some funny things that happened while writing the book (this will include some points of interest for the athletes and conservationists in attendance)

• how did the Sunshine Coast Trail come to be?
• environmental philosophy of the trail
• what hikers, runners and others should know about the new huts and features
• goals for the trail and how you can become involved

The Run - Dave and Ean (10 mins)

• how four city boys discovered the Sunshine Coast Trail... and some of the trouble they got into as a result

• some background on the Marathon Shuffle a run/hike along the Sunshine Coast Trail on Sunday 29 April 2012

• it's OK to ask questions anytime, but you can ask more now if time permits
• Draw for an autographed copy of A Dream of Giants

• reconvene to East is East, a very cool place about 2 blocks away
