Top 10 List - The Bizarre World of Mutha's Nature Trail Run 2010

Mutha's Nature 2010

Without fail, I experience something unexpected at every Club Fat Ass event.  Today was no exception.

Here are the top 10 unexpected things I experienced today in the bizarre world that is Mutha's Nature Trail Run

Mutha's Nature Trail Run - 2010

3 October 2010 - 11 Starters

Report: This year's running of Mutha's Nature saw overcast conditions, but luckily despite there being not a sky in the cloud, the rain held off.  Perfect running conditions, especially at these low elevations, while for those who skipped it to go bagging, not so much.  A good day for a 'shit-bag' I guesss though.

The Choirboy Circuit

During our 10.5 hour baggage expedition yesterday, David Crerar, Simon Cowell and I had lots of time to ponder things. The route we had chosen was new to the Bagger Challenge. "What will we call it?" I asked, assuming that, if we were successful, this route would become a classic.

Why I Love the Bagger Challenge

Yesterday (a week day), I bagged a peak for the first time with my friend Neil the ChickenMan.  Immediately upon my return, I went to a street party where none of the attendees were Baggers.  My non-bagging friends could not understand what could possibly motivate someone to play hooky and go for a 6-hour run on an obscure trail.  All this for bragging rights on a claim to have reached the peak of an obscure mountain peak and making it home alive in time for dinner.

Good question!

Sunshine in September - 2010

Starter Photo: 11 September 2010 - 13 Starters

Report: Contrary to the weather forecast leading up to Saturday, we truly had Sunshine in September on the Sunshine Coast this weekend. On Saturday morning, we arrived at the ferry terminal to find our starters properly caffeinated and ready to go.

2010 - Year 7 - Fall Mountain Highway Madness

12 September 2010 - 7 Human Starters + 1 Hound

By definition, anyone who participates in Mountain Highway Madness is mad. Not mad at the world... I mean nuts mad: Crazy, bonkers, out of their gourd mad. What same person would want to run up a big mountain, turn around and run back down, then repeat until they are too exhausted to even drool?

Sunshine in September 2010 - Run, Ran, RUN!

For those of us NOT from BC or another coastal area, ferry rides are a rarity. I really didn't know what to expect in terms of what this "boat" would look like. It was a pleasant surprise because BC ferries are PLUSH! First of all, the things are HUGE and can hold more than 100 cars - WOW!
