I've been working on a major project which I'm ready to announce. I, along with my friends Adam Janke from Active Orthopaedic and Chris Cole from the Run Inn, have organized a terrific event for Vancouver area runners.
On Thursday, January 26 at 7 p.m. we're hosting a running symposium at the Hotel Vancouver. We've lined up an awesome expert panel to discuss the topic, Traditional Shoes vs. Minimalist Shoes: Where Science Meets the Road.
The event is free so make sure you mark it down on your calendars.
You'll get the perspectives of a sports medicine doctor, a physiotherapist, a pedorthist, a coach (me ;-) and a running shoe designer. We're also working on getting one more speaker involved.
Seats are limited so I ask that you RSVP if you'd like to attend.
I hope you'll be able to join us for the entertaining and educational evening. There will be a number of the shoe companies there so you'll be able to check out the lastest in running footwear.
One more thing, if you're still looking for a great gift for a fellow runner why not get them a
Core Running Gift Certificate? They can apply it to a running assessment, a clinic, workshop or camp. The only exception is they won't be able to apply it to the Core Running Camp in Maui.
Yes this is a go! I'll send more details about this next week.
Please help spread the word about the
symposium. Facebook and tweet the webpage link. There's a lot of misinformation being circulated about shoes these days; this discussion will help you better understand the pros and cons of each category of footwear.
Running healthy, run strong!
