Heads-up if you are a man who plans to go for a run and a swim tomorrow and would like a warm shower and a place to change afterwards...
I've got some bad news: The men's change room/shower at Brocton Oval was vandalized and is closed. The entire men's side of the facility is still boarded-up.
I spoke to both the park ranger and to a representative of the City of Vancouver parks. There are some portable toilets, but no alternative mens change or shower facilities. If you're a guy, you might want to think twice about trying to beat Sammy's 22-minute swim record this year!
If you're a woman, there are no excuses for not trying to break the swim record as your side of the change facilities is tickety-boo. (Change room open. Showers open, but require electronic key, which I have for you.)
