I hope you are all looking forward to the Sunshine in September event next Saturday (Sept. 5th, 2009)! With the help of some local runners, we now have a new route for the first and last 3k of the course. Instead of running up the highway (and then down at the finish), the course is being updated to follow a bike trail that runs alongside the highway.
On our trial run last weekend, we didn't encounter a single biker or other runner. Saw some evidence of bear and deer but they were scarce that morning. I'm trying to get the updated course description onto the event page but haven't gotten that proficient at using the site yet, so I've pleaded with Sibylle to help me post the updates. I hope to have them up soon.
I really hope to see you and meet some of the CFA members at this run! By the way, we have a gear check vehicle this year for your change of clothes (or travel coffee mugs). Oh, and I'll be making and bringing baked goods for the finish.
