On Canada Day I ran with a few guys on the BP from Nelson Canyon to the Cleveland Dam. There is still a lot of snow up there and not a hope in hell most if it will melt by race day. We started seeing snow right after the Donut lookout it didn't let up until the Hollyburn Chute. It was a mess up above Cypress and then heading towards Hollyburn even when there was a bare spot there is tons of debris as it has just freshly melted. Then my hand held water bottle flew out of my hand when I lost my balance with my key in the pocket, and landed in Cypress Creek. The creek was frozen over still but my bottle managed to land in a spot that wasn't and disappear under the snow & ice. I thought it had drifted down to the ocean for sure but when I went down to the next melted section I found it spinning in a little eddy off to the side a few feet in and managed to knock it free with a stick. To cap it all off, after we went for some beer & food, we found out the Second Narrows Bridge was closed as I'm sure most of you know and we got stuck on the North Shore until late into the evening. Be ready for a nasty first half of the race! Ryan
