Hi! Me and a friend are hosting a unique sort of workshop at SFU Harbor Center with a run at the Seawall. It is being advertised through various outlets and I was hoping some of you might be interested. I am a competitive varsity runner for SFU and my friend is a recreational runner.
We will be meeting at 10:00 am at the entrance to SFU Harbor Center inside the building. We have a room (3050) where we will be giving some quick tips on running form, where people can drop off their stuff if they need to before we go on a 20-30 minute run along the seawall. Even experienced runners often can do things to adjust their form to help with more efficient running, that also reduces chances of injury.
When we get back to Harbor Center two things will happen - we will have various FREE food available, which will most likely be some baked food and fruit. We will also be holding a running dialogue. There will be a mix of experienced and new runners so we will very likely split into two groups. Newer runners will probably want to talk about barriers to running, places to run, and might be looking for someone new to run with.
With the experienced runners, I am hoping to get into more complex topics, ex. Running mileage and improvements, Peaking for races, Barefoot / Minimalist running etc. or to bring our knowledge together and answer any questions people have.
Thanks and hopefully I will see some of you out there!
Note: I am mid-distance runner who runs up to 10km in races. I don't have as much knowledge about Half-Marathon training or anything longer.
Thanks,
James
