This is a Message from my dear Colleague, Casper Nighstalker, of the Capilano Commandoes, Special Operations Unit. He is too Shy to make this Posting on his own and asked me to Do It in his stead:
He would like to Invite all hardy Capilano Commandoes who are interested in a run to confirm or deny a far flung Link between the Forbidden Forest of the East and the Forbidden Forest of the West in the Fury Creek area near Squamish.
He really hates Club Fat Ass T-Shirts, and will Force anyone whearing these to Remove them. He is Sensistive about his Portly frame, let's say.
Also, Law-Abiding Citizens are strictly Forbidden from Embarking upon this Mission, along with any of the usual Wimps or Whiners. This is of Extreme importance, due to the Nature of the Operation; there will be No opportunity for Rescue, Casualties will by necessity be Left for Dead.
If you wish to take part in this Mission, please Message me your response to the Following four Questions, and I will Pass them along to Casper. After he Vets your Credentials, he will Evaluate your Worthiness to take part in this mission, and Provide you with a Response.
We will be Meeting at 8:00 am at the End of the Line. At that Point, instructions and Maps will be Disseminated by Casper. Participants will be able to Decide for themselves Whether they Chooose to run in Several small Groups or all in One Unit.
The Run itself is mostly on easy flattish Trail, and Service Road. As with any Capilano Commando Mission, the possibility exists for short Bushwhacking sections and potential capture by the Protectors of the Forbidden Forests.
In the Event that the link depicted on Casper's Maps between the Forbidden Forests does not Exist, the mission may Turn into an Out-and-Back, or, some may choose to Continue in a Bushwhacking fashion, while others may choose to Double Back.
Afterwards, we Shall reconvene at the Black Bear Pub in Lynn Valley Centre for Food and Libations.
Casper Nighstalker's Four Questions:
1) You are out for a trail run, and, thinking you have the woods to yourself, and with liquid sloshing around in your bladder, you stop on the side of the trail to relieve yourself. Just as you finish, you see an officer of the law coming down the trail. He is obviously slower than you. Do you:
a. Break into a sprint immediately, and high tail it outta there
b. Jog away in a casual style. You're an ultra-runner, you'll make him pay over the miles
c. Give yourself up, you have been caught breaking the law and must be punished
2) Let's say, hypothetically speaking, you are Spotted by the Protectors of the Forbidden Forest whilst Participating in this Event. They tell you to Come out of the Forest and onto the Road so they can Deal With You. Do you:
a. Retreat back further into the bush, and bypass them, continuing on in the mission
b. Remain in hiding, and retreat back to Home base once the road enemies have left the area
c. Come out with your Hands Up, and give them the Locations of where your Comrades are in Hiding
3) You are captured by the Enemy while engaging in Special Operations as a member of the Elite Capilano Commando Special Operations Unit, or ECCSOU for short. Do you:
a. Swallow the poisoned electrolyte pill you have reserved for such an occasion, before they can extract any details
b. Keep your mouth shut. Don't tell them your name, or who you are with. Mum's the word.
c. Tell them everything in a flurry of tears. Give up Casper and all your buddies. Repent and Save yourself!
4) What is your running background? Why do you think Casper should Consider you Worthy to Paricipate in this sensitive Operation? (short-answer)
