Craig's running goals for 2010

Keeping it simple and with the understanding that I am not in the contest for 2010 because of a post Dec 31 entry, I thought I'd put some ideas down for my running goals. And I'm looking for suggestions/invitations from others to help me out:

  • Run NYDFA50 and avoid the swim once again.
  • Dirty Duo 50km.
  • Run at least 25km and crew for the rest of the time at the Vancouver 100.
  • Run 25km at Pure Satisfaction.
  • Volunteer at Knee Knacker and other events where I can find my running friends.
  • Volunteer to help with 5 Peaks training runs.
  • Volunteer at STORMY.
  • Bag some peaks ... the ones I have yet to do especially like Cathedral Mountain.
  • Hold a Flash or Annual CFA Event to Gambier Island, Mount Killam.
  • Run one race outside of BC.
  • Seriously consider joining the S.L.U.G.s for a pleasant run down south with Jason Eads.
  • Meet some new running friends and give Kristie Congram a run for her money at attracting new CFA members.
  • Train on trails I have yet to experience here in the Lower Mainland or elsewhere. I hope people that know me or don't know me will invite me to run on their favourite turf.
  • Closely watch Jesper's progress for a chance to run with him as he gets closer to Canada and his finish in Newfoundland (World Run II).
  • Run to the South Needle again on a clear day and sit a while ... very nice!

Good luck to everyone with their goals and aspirations for 2010.

Hi Craig, Can I ask you to

Hi Craig,

Can I ask you to rate yourself on your 2010 resolutions. Ideally, I'd like to get percentage points to be able to compare everybody

Maybe I can help you with your third resolution Craig...

does that mean ...

so you're in for the next one? I want to see you cross the finish line!

Maybe

Well, Maureen isn't too crazy about the idea.  But I think I can convince her that I've only had two strikes, and I should get one more swing at it before I'm really out.

I'll be there

trailing behind you Tim, but there nonetheless. Maureen is welcome to hook up with my wife Helen who will be at various points along the way. They can commiserate and wonder about our respective sanities.

Craig,

Anytime you're peak bagging, I'm in. See you both soon hopefully.

Your 2010 Running Goals

I'm sure you'll accomplish all of if not most of your 2010 goals. As always I'll be there as your Numero Uno support and crew when you run. Looking forward to volunteering together (even at the Kneeknacker) and bagging some peaks with you.

So, are we visiting Jason Eads this year...?

Thanks for helping me with my goals :)

Now we're talking!

Would love to you see you BOTH in Missouri!

Hopefully we can get some momentum with other CFA affiliates as well. We've got some nice stuff to run down here that I'm sure you'd enjoy.

However, it's HOT & HUMID in July down here :)

I like that last one! And the

I like that last one!

And the one about training on new trails. Take me with you. :)

Nice list Craig!

Selfishly, I particularly like the one about consideration for a run "down south". I'm hoping to get something coordinated for us all!

There is a schedule of SLUG events on their site if you're interested in any of them (http://www.stlouisultrarunnersgroup.net)

I didn't list it on my 2010 goals, but I'm going to try to run all of their events this year :)

Also, I've proposed the weekend/week of July 4th as a potential trip to Missouri for CFA friends & members (just as a starting point to get the ball rolling).

If you have thoughts on something that makes sense be sure to let me know.

Best of luck on your goals for 2010!

Jason
