Day 1!  Rub a Dub Dub Circle the Pub!                Dec 27th!  8am

Beautiful Kelowna Creekside Park will be the first of the six marathons. Very festive with decorated Christmas trees; this 15k loop is along the creek under and over a bridge or two and mostly flat. Yes its trail, but a gravel and dirt trail. Washrooms along the way, some with running water and heated. Best of all you will run by the Pub three times. Very easy for you to aid yourself out of your car from the start line and an extra aid station at the Pub as well. Speedsters can go for a beer when they’re done and watch the others pass by through the window!

Mission Creek Greenaway Kelowna BC!

Results:

It was a perfect day. Snow on the ground, decorated trees along the half frozen river full of ducks and geese serenading us. Then it snowed a little more just enough to keep it from being slippery.

Everyone finished in under 5 hours. Exact times to be posted soon Congrats to: Jessie Swanard, Natasha Shove, Lorie Alexander, DJ Gordon, Mike Dever, Barry Hopkins, Wendy Birkeland. Custom distances: Carla Bent, Shelly?, Rick Mall.

Day 2!  BURR! Beerbundelup!                                Dec 28th!  8am

Kal Park! Vernon’s little Jewel for running trails. Start Alexander's Pub to Cousin Bay loop through the hilly park in and out of all three Bays! Repeat. Again you will pass by Redneck aid station three times. You may want to bring Yak tracks incase it’s icy. Weather prediction; Snow! This is a glorious park!

Alexander's Pub 12408 Kalamaka Rd Vernon BC!

This was a tough race on everyone. Kal Park boasts about 5000ft of climbing in a marathon distance but the weather and trails were perfect, Sorry you missed out on a glorious run. Three inches of fresh snow and sunshine to add color to your cheeks!

Congrats to Sarah Barry and Me for the marathon. Mike Dev and Jessie were done in on the hills so custom distances for them.

Day 3!  Bean’s to Brew’s                                          Dec 29th!  8am

Just 10 mins outside of Vernon you will find Lumby! A small, rural farming community with an amazing little coffee shop from Italy. They have been kind enough to start us off of this back country road race along ranch and farm land to Echo Lake Park and back to finish at the Pub next to the coffee shop. I said it was a small city! This will be wonderland run.  An amazing rolling (while a bit hilly), twisting road through snow caped evergreen trees, to a beautiful little lake and back. You’ll love this one but make sure to bring a drop bag for warmer cloths. There will be a roaming aid station for this one due to the remoteness of the run! Again warm-up with a brew in the Pub!

Italian Coffee shop Lumby 15 mins east of Vernon on Hyw 6!

This was amazing. We had to stay by the lake and do out and back 3 times because of icy road conditions but the ice fisherman and family's skating were cheering us on with bonfires and hot drinks. We even had Frank an elder join in who ran in snow boots! Too funny. Again I'm sorry you couldn't make this. It was memorable!

Congrats to Frank, Barry, Wendy and Me for the marathon, Dev, Jess and Natasha for custom distances.

Day 4!  Thrill of the Chill!                                           Dec 30th!  8am

It could be cold and chilly running Kalamalka Lake road in December. Yup this one is on the road. A rolling out and back through rural Coldstream ranches along the lake to Vernon city limits. We will start and finish at Original Joe's Pub. After you’re done warm up with brew and good eats in the Pub!

 Original Joe's 2306 Hwy 6!

We had to change this one because of icy roads!!! Lookout point above Kal lake, out and back on a very windy but sun filled day! Took it's toll on Barry!!!

Congrats to Dave, Shawn (fresh leg people) and Me! Wendy, Barry, Natasha and Mike for custom distance. I'm it for making all six! Pray for me!

Day 5!  Chill your Rear! Don’t Spill your Beer!       Dec 31st!  8am.

Coffee and hot chocolate at the parking lot of Blue Heron  Pub in the morning then hit the road to Ellison Park and back. This is a beautiful rolling double out and back! "yes I said double" you have to do it twice! Then back to the Pub for Ale! This one will be hilly (Vernon is hilly) but it’s down hill on the way back both times! You’re almost done!

Blue Heron Waterfront Pub 7673 Okanagon Landing Rd.

Day 6!  High Rim Rum Run Rumble!                        Jan 1st!!!  8am?

(Say that fast once!) You will be happy that we will truck you up to the highest point 5100ft, then it’s a drop with the coffee/beer truck! We saved the best for last. You will start on the top of glorious mountain road at 5100ft with an amazing blanket of snow covered trees. Hopefully the sun is out; it’s pretty spectacular. You will have a roaming aid station again due to the remoteness.  Bring a drop bag again with warmer cloths as you never know what could blow in or how long this last one will take. It’s a pretty place to spend a long time if your butt is dragging. Just remember its downhill! There will be snowmobilers to cheer you on as you drop into Lavington back down at 1900ft!

Lavinton Superette 6015 Hwy 6 Lavington just 10mins east of Vernon.

And that’s A Canadian Six Pack! EH!
