Saw little sense in running up Mountain Hwy for the Mountain Highway Madness and not bagging a peak, so I took a little detour at the MHM turn-around, bagged Fromme, then completed my single lap of MHM.
The trailhead at the back (north-east) corner of the quarry is easy to find with a red arrow more than 2' long showing the way. This takes you up the mostly runnable south slope of Fromme.
The trail goes around the east side of the actual summit to a trail intersection. You know you are there when you see a swampy bit of ground and this gnarly old tree.
Back to the intersection, then took the steeper west trail down with a quick look around the little lake and view of possibly the last remnants of snow on Fromme.
Trail ends at an intersection with Eric the Red trail, turn south to find Mountain Highway again right at the big turn where the road turns back towards Grouse. Popped out on the road just as Phil and Wally were passing doing their last Frosty training run. Joined them until they veered of onto Per Gynt trail.
Fromme round trip from & back to quarry was 1hr36min http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1284919
